Who you are dealing with

Digital Nomads Magazine is a trading name of Authentika Studio. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean that entity, and "you" means anyone using the site.

Accepting these terms

By using digitalnomadsmagazine.com you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. Reading the site is free and we do not ask you to create an account.

Age

You must be 13 or older to subscribe to the newsletter or send us anything through a form. We ask you to confirm this, and we check it on our server. If we learn that someone under 13 has given us their details, we delete them.

Our content

Articles, guides and editorial content on this site belong to us or to the people who licensed them to us. You may link to anything we publish, and quote short extracts with attribution and a link back. Republishing a whole article, or a substantial part of one, needs our written permission. Using our content to train machine learning models is not permitted without a separate licence.

Content you send us

If you send us a pitch, an article, photographs or anything else, you keep ownership of it. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to edit, publish and distribute it on this site and our own channels, including the newsletter and social accounts. We will not publish your work without confirming with you first.

When you send us material you confirm that it is yours or that you have permission to give it to us, that publishing it will not infringe anyone else's rights, and that it is not defamatory or unlawful. If a claim is brought against us because that turns out not to be the case, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of dealing with it. This matters most for photographs: please only send us images you took or have a licence to share.

You can ask us to take your material down at any time and we will, though we may keep copies in archived newsletters already sent.

Newsletter

Subscribing is free. You ask for the newsletter, then confirm by clicking a link in an email, and you can unsubscribe from any email we send with one click. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately. There is no paid subscription on this site, nothing renews and we will never charge you. How we handle your email address is set out in our Privacy Policy.

Advertising, affiliate links and sponsored content

We make money from sponsored features and affiliate links, and we mark both.

• Sponsored articles carry a visible label. A partner paying for a feature does not get to change our assessment of the facts.
• Affiliate links may earn us a commission if you buy something. It never costs you more, and we do not recommend anything because of a commission.

Our full policy is in our advertising and disclosure page. If you ever find something that looks paid for and is not labelled, tell us and we will fix it.

Information on this site is not advice

What we publish is general information for a general audience. It is not legal, immigration, tax, financial, insurance or medical advice, and it is not a substitute for advice about your own situation from someone qualified to give it.

Visa rules, income thresholds, fees and tax treatment change frequently and vary by nationality and circumstances. We date our articles and correct them when we learn something has changed, but you must verify anything you are relying on against the official source before you act on it. Decisions about moving countries carry real consequences and they are yours to make.

Links to other sites

We link to other websites for reference. We do not control them, we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement.

Availability

We try to keep the site up but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, and we may remove or update articles.

Our liability to you

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything here.

Subject to that, and because we provide this site free of charge:

• We are not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable at the time you used the site.
• We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.
• We are not liable for loss arising from your reliance on general information published here where you have not verified it against the official source, as set out above.

If you use this site for business purposes rather than as a consumer, our total liability to you in connection with the site is limited to £100.

Acceptable use

Please do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or its server, introduce malicious code, scrape it in a way that degrades it for other readers, or submit anything unlawful through our forms. We may block access where we reasonably believe any of that is happening.

Copyright complaints

Everything we publish is written by us, licensed to us, or supplied to us by the people it is about. If you believe something here infringes your copyright, email media@digitalnomadsmagazine.com with a link to the page and what the material is. We will look at it promptly and take it down if you are right.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top reflects the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it. We will not apply a change retrospectively to something you sent us before it was made.

If part of this does not hold up

If a court decides any part of these terms is unenforceable, that part is removed and the rest continues to apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes about them go to the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK or in the EEA, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, or of the right to bring proceedings there.
