Advertising and Disclosure

Last updated: 29 September 2026

The short version

We make money from sponsored features and affiliate links. Both are labelled, every time, on the article itself rather than buried down here. Nothing we recommend is chosen because it pays.

Sponsored features

A business can pay us to produce and publish a feature about them. When that happens the article carries a clear paid-feature label above the text, before you read any of it, and every link in the piece is marked as sponsored.

What a sponsor is paying for is the work and the placement. They are not buying a verdict. We check the facts either way, and if we cannot stand behind a claim we do not print it. A sponsor gets to see the piece before it goes live and correct anything factually wrong about their own business. They do not get to rewrite our assessment.

Affiliate links

Some links to products and services may earn us a commission if you buy through them. It never costs you more than going direct. Any article containing one shows a disclosure above the article body.

We do not currently have any live affiliate arrangements. When we do, they will be listed here and the links will be marked.

How the labelling works

The marking is automatic rather than something a writer has to remember. Monetised links are flagged at the point the article is rendered, so the disclosure and the link marking appear together and cannot be switched off for an individual article. That is deliberate: a disclosure you can forget is a disclosure that eventually gets forgotten.

Monetised links also carry rel="sponsored", which tells search engines the link is paid. We do not sell search ranking. If you approach us wanting a do-follow link for SEO value, the answer is no, whatever the offer.

What we will not do

  • Publish paid content without labelling it.
  • Change a recommendation, a ranking or a comparison because of a commercial relationship.
  • Sell a link that passes search ranking signal.
  • Let a sponsor approve our editorial judgement about them.
  • Run display advertising or behavioural ad networks. There are none on this site.
  • Sell, rent or share your email address or reading habits with an advertiser.

Free coverage

Most of what we publish is not paid for by anyone. We write about businesses because they are interesting to our readers. Being covered once does not mean money changed hands, and paying us does not get you covered again.

If we get it wrong

If you find something on this site that looks paid for and is not labelled, tell us and we will correct it. Email media@digitalnomadsmagazine.com. The same address works if you want to advertise with us, and our Work With Us page covers pitches.
